NOTICE OF DAY OF REVIEW OF APPORTIONMENT
BLUE LAKE DAM
SERVING ROUND LAKE, LAKE MECOSTA & BLUE LAKE
MORTON TOWNSHIP, MECOSTA COUNTY

TAKE NOTICE that on February 11, 2019, at the Mecosta County Services Building, 14485 Northland Drive, Big Rapids, Michigan the Apportionment of Benefits for the Blue Lake Dam (Lake Level Control Structure) Special Assessment District and the Computation of Cost will be subject to review from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The assessment is to fund dam maintenance.

TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that an owner of or party with interest in real property to be assessed or his/her agent may appear in person to object to the special assessment or may protest such special assessment by letter filed with the Mecosta County Drain Commissioner at or prior to the time of the hearing. Written objections may be filed with or mailed to the Mecosta County Drain Commissioner, County Services Building, Room 105, 14485 Northland Drive, Big Rapids, Michigan 49307. Notice is also given that the owner of any real property within the Blue Lake Dam Special Assessment District who, having made an objection to said special assessment either in person or in writing, may, within fifteen (15) days after the confirmation of the special assessment roll, appeal such special assessment to the Mecosta County Probate Court or other court of competent jurisdiction.

Services

Drain Commissioner's Office:

  • Construct, repair, and maintain 39 county drains
  • Inspect and maintain 7 lake level structures
  • Member of the following lake improvements boards:
  • - Brady Lake Improvement Board
  • - Jehnsen Lake Improvement Board
  • - Tri-Lakes Improvement Board
  • Mecosta County Parks Board Member

Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control Department/Certified Enforcing Agency:

  • Review and approve plans
  • Issue Soil Erosion Permits
  • Inspect construction sites

Review and approve storm water drainage plans for plats, site condos, mobile home parks and other developments.

Assist the general public with problems related to flooding and other drainage complaints and concerns.
